Paris Hilton was apparently overheard bragging about her earnings from her infamous homemade sex tape at an Oscars party. The blonde heiress claimed to be "embarrassed" and "upset" when ex-lover Rick Salomon leaked a tape of them having sex and was always adamant she had not profited from it. A source at a post-Oscars party claims to have heard Paris laughing and boasting with Rick about making $1 million from the official release of 'One Night in Paris', according to the New York Post newspaper. Paris' representative, Elliot Mintz, has confirmed Paris did speak with Rick at the party but insists the sex tape was not mentioned.

Elliot revealed Paris went home with another former flame, Stavros Niarchos, saying: "All is well on the home front." The infamous footage was put on the internet in 2003. Rick then sold it to an adult film production company who converted the home movie into a DVD narrated by Rick. The film went on to become the biggest celebrity sex tape of all time. In 2004, Paris sued the Panama based company Kahatani Ltd for damages claiming she had been "humiliated" by the distribution of the tape and her privacy had been invaded.

Paris Hilton had her car confiscated by police for driving without headlights on, it has been reported.'The Simple Life' star was leaving West Hollywood's Virgin Megastore at around 10.30pm on Tuesday night (27.02.07) after purchasing some DVDs when she was stopped by police who towed away her $200,000 2007 Bentley Continental GTC Convertible. A Los Angeles County Sheriff's department deputy said: "She was speeding down Sunset Boulevard without headlights. "She was pulled over and deputies discovered she was driving with a suspended licence." Paris' publicist, Elliot Mintz, said: "She was leaving the car park which is
brightly lit and she had not noticed her headlights were not activated. If it is the case her licence has been suspended, she was not aware of it."

Last month, Paris pleaded no contest to a charge of reckless driving. She was placed on probation for 36 months and must also pay a $390 fine and attend an alcohol education programme. It is not known if her licence was suspended, but if it was she is now guilty of breaking her probation. Two weeks before accepting her reckless driving charge, the hotel heiress pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanour counts of driving under the influence (DUI) and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher. The charges relate to Paris' arrest on September 7 last year for driving erratically in her silver Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren just after midnight in Hollywood.

She scored a .08 on a Breathalyzer test, which is the minimum blood-alcohol level to qualify for a DUI. Paris claimed she hadn't eaten all day and had only drunk one margarita cocktail at a party, before leaving to get a burger. She said she was driving erratically because she was so hungry.
